Professor A.A. Dange born on 30th June, 1955 has a long distinguished career as a University Teacher, Researcher and University Administrator. He comes from a family, whose past four generations have served the teaching profession with utmost dedication and sincerity. Mild mannerism, Belief in Hard Work, utmost loyalty to the institution, transparent working are the key features of his personality.
A alumni of Stella Mary’s. St. Paul’s and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, Professor A.A. Dange has a brilliant academic and teaching record. He completed his All-India Higher Secondary Examination (CBSE) with First Class Distinction from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) in 1971, Graduation with First Class First in Economics, 1974, and Post-Graduation, First Class First in Economics 1976 from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He obtained his Ph.D from the same University in the subject Economics (specialization – Public Economics). He is a recipient of the Late Subroto Memorial Scholarship for Graduate Studies (1971-1974) of the IAF Benevolent Fund, Air Head Quarters, New Delhi, National Merit Scholarship for Post-Graduate Studies (1974-76) and UGC Research Fellowship for Doctoral Studies (1977-1979). He has experience of 39 years of University Teaching in the subject Economics with specialization in Public Economics and Macro Economics. He has successfully guided 34 M.Phil and 12 Ph.d Students and has completed Four Research Projects with funding from World Bank, Ministry of HRD, GOI and UGC. He was coordinator for MBA and HOD of Economics Dept, 2009-2013. He has published 78 Research Papers and presented 72 Papers at International and National Conferences and published 4 Books.
Professor (Dr). A.A. Dange has a strong background of University administration. He was Acting Registrar, Chief Rector, Director, Board of College and University Development and Vice Chancellor at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Having served as Member, Joint Board of Vice Chancellors (JBVC) and Chairman of various University Committees, he has developed strong insights into the working of the University system. Since 1st July, 2015, he joined APU as Vice Chancellor with a mission to make APU – the best University in North East India by 2020 – and in the process provide quality higher education at the doorsteps of the tribal communities in Arunachal Pradesh and North East India.
